Support at Home: aged care funding for older South Australians
Aged care funding changed substantially in late 2025. The Support at Home programme replaced Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care on 1 November 2025, alongside the new Aged Care Act. It uses eight classification levels rather than the old four, releases funding as quarterly budgets, and fully funds clinical care such as nursing and allied health. From 1 July 2026, price caps apply across services and providers must publish their prices, making value easier to compare.
